iOS to Cybersecurity Roadmap

How I am thinking about the transition from shipping mobile apps professionally to building serious depth in security.

I do not see the move from iOS to cybersecurity as a clean break. I see it as a deepening of the same instinct: understanding how systems behave, where trust is assumed too easily, and what happens when the happy path stops being true.

The mistake would be trying to learn everything at once. Security is wide enough to make fake progress feel productive. I am trying to stay narrow on purpose, especially around mobile, authentication, network behavior, and the practical side of debugging real implementations.

My current structure

  • Keep building iOS products so I stay sharp in production work.
  • Study security concepts that directly connect back to mobile systems.
  • Write small notes after labs so the ideas become usable, not just familiar.

I want the transition to be earned, not aesthetic. It is easy to make the internet-facing version of yourself look more advanced than the work behind it. I would rather be obviously in progress and technically honest.
